Therapy is the path where old burdens grow lighter and each step leads you closer to healing and joy

Therapy is a conversation that helps you remember who you are beneath the stress, the stories, and the survival

People come to therapy for many different reasons. Some know exactly what they need and they seek support for a specific concern. While others may have no idea what they need, they just know they are suffering and they want to feel better. In therapy with me, you will be offered support that is tailored to your needs, and if you don’t know what you need, that’s okay, because my role is to help you figure that out. Then, together, we will create your path forward.

A Bit About Me…

Professionally

I have been in the field of social work for 20 years. A few years ago, I chose to deepen my practice by providing psychotherapy, something I’ve considered my calling for a very long time. I am experienced with helping people recovering from PTSD, grief, depression, and anxiety. I also support people to improve their self-esteem, self-care, and self-compassion. I am passionate about helping people to reconnect with their strengths and move toward meaningful change.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and compassionate. On occasion, I may even throw in some appropriately-timed humour because laughter can be therapeutic! I draw from evidence-based practices to help you better understand yourself, manage difficult emotions, heal your inner wounds, create a positive sense of yourself, and build the tools you need to move forward.

Safety and inclusion matter to me, so all people are welcome and will be treated with dignity and respect.

Personally

In my free moments, I love hiking with my dog, spending time with friends and family, reading all kinds of books, and contemplating life’s big, often unanswerable questions! I’m a bit of a bird nerd, I appreciate a wide range of music, and I love to travel. Like many others in my field, I have struggled with my own tough and challenging times. After benefitting from therapy, I felt inspired to help others the way I’ve been helped. So, that’s why I’m here - to get into the muck and mess of life with you - so that you know you are not alone through it. To me, it is truly fulfilling to help someone learn, heal, and grow no matter what age or stage of life they are in.
